Grouper Fishing – The Fish Are Biting

Grouper Fishing

The Red Grouper bite has continued to be good for those of us fishing out of Venice. High water temperatures continue but the fish seem to be getting more aggressive as the summer winds down. Dead bait and live bait both have been working well in waters beyond 100 ft in depth. The gag grouper bite has been a bit slow as these fish are not quite as energetic in the warm water.

A lot of Triple Tail are all over anything floating with as many as a dozen fish being seen together on a regular basis. Shrimp and some artificial baits work well for these fish and a few fish over the 15″ minimum are being caught. As the nights get cooler in the next few weeks and the water temps being a slow decline, many other fish should start showing up.
